Jim and Marilyn Helzer formed a new partnership with R.D. Hubbard in 2004, revitalizing the historic Hondo Ranch between Roswell and Ruidoso, New Mexico.
JEH New Mexico is one of the state's premier Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred breeding and boarding facilities. A new stallion barn and other upgrades were made to the facility in 2006.

New Mexico Horse Breeder's Association paid out more than $3.7 million in incentive award monies for the 2005 racing season in accordance with laws and regulations enacted by the New Mexico State Legislature and the New Mexico State Racing Commission.
Owner Awards are distributed annually in November for any New Mexico Bred finishing first, second, or third in any race within New Mexico.
Breeder's Awards are distributed annually in November to the breeder, the owner of the dam at the time of foaling, for first place in any race within New Mexico.
Stallion Awards are distributed annually to the Stallion Owner for first place in any race within New Mexico.
