OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 7, 2010—Remington Park conducted 12 trials on Saturday evening to determine the finalists for the $312,000 Oklahoma Futurity. Coming through with the second fastest time of the night was Absolut Treasure in the 6th trial race.

Owned and bred by Reed Land & Cattle Co., LLC and trained by J effrey Heath Reed, Absolute Treasure cruised to an impressive one length win in his trial race under champion jockey G.R. Carter.

The two-year-old gelding by grade 3 stakes winner DESIRIO , handled 300 yards over a fast track in :15.565 seconds. The Oklahoma-bred is out of the Stoli mare, Absolut Fortune.

2010 will be the first full crop of two-year-olds to go to the track by DESIRIO . He had one winner last season from a test crop of two foals to race.

The ten fastest qualifiers from 100 head that started in Saturday's trial races will return on March 20 to compete in the Oklahoma Futurity finals. The Grade 2 event is the longest running futurity in American Quarter Horse racing, having started in 1947.

Leading jockey Jimmy Brooks posted his second consecutive riding-quadruple, finding the winner’s circle on all four of the Willis winners. Brooks has eight wins on the season, three ahead of G.R. Carter who posted his own quadruple on Saturday.

The Grade 2, $50,000 Eastex Handicap is featured Sunday night at Remington Park as the first stakes event of the young season. The 10-race program gets started at 6:25pm (central).
